Time to Heal
Each new year, as I reflect upon the year to come, I choose a word of the year. Usually, it takes me a bit of time to choose…how do I want to feel this year? What do I want to accomplish? Who do I want to be? But this year, the word came to me in an instant…like it had been sitting in the wings, just waiting to be called upon. This year, when I pulled out my journal, the word I wrote was heal.
Ask the Right Question
The alarm rings…it’s 5:30am. You groan as you press snooze. “I should get up,” you think, “I will regret not getting up.” Your eyes slowly flutter closed and within seconds, the alarm goes off again. “Ugh” you sigh. Not today. You reset the alarm for 6:45am and head back to bed. When you’re finally up, you take your time through showering and doing your hair and suddenly realize you need to be out the door in 15 minutes. No time to make breakfast, again. You rush to feed the animals, pack your lunch, and make a coffee before sprinting out the door.
